Sophie Richards is a District Councillor, representing Sidmouth Town in East Devon; a Senior Manager at Weber Shandwick, one of the world's leading public relations firms; and is Deputy Chair of Conservative Young Women.
Previously, Sophie was an Adviser to the Commons Deputy Speaker, during which time she created and chaired the Conservative Women's Staffers Network.
Sophie was the Conservative Party's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Coventry North East at the 2019 General Election, increasing the conservative vote by 5.4%. She is on the Conservative Candidates' List.
Sophie studied politics and economics at Newcastle University.
In her spare time, Sophie enjoys sea swimming, long walks, going to the theatre and a good old pub lunch. She volunteers for homeless organisations and supports Tamar, which aims to restore hope to people exploited in the sex industry.
